Congress Venue, A Venue of Choice,  The Cultural Center former Ursuline School

Located at the highest point of the medieval castle district known as Kastro (Castle), the Ursuline School offers spectacular panoramic views onto the Aegean, the Temple of Apollo (Portara) and surrounding islands, Paros, Mykonos and Syros. Visible from afar, the renovated three-story neoclassic building elicits an aura of science and academia, befitting to its history as one of Greece’s finest convents for schooling at the time.

The school, built in 1739, was an all-girls school run by the Ursuline order till 1972 and had a stellar reputation for its academic program. Restored in 2009, is now the Cultural Venue for the Municipality of Naxos; it also houses the municipality’s historical archive and library, and the Archaeological Agency of Naxos. It is adjacent to the Archeological Museum of Naxos that hosts the most extensive collection of Cycladic idols and to the Catholic Archdiocese Metropolis. On the terrace and its amazing 360° views, there is Café Avaton, where you may enjoy the view along with coffee, drinks, snacks.

The Venue is about a 15 min walk from where the ferry boat docks and an 8 min walk from The Health Center.
